DMM 2025: Program

Dear Mölkky players,

Welcome to the DMM 2026!
Here are a few notes.

This year, registration will be handled entirely by Tournify

www.tournify.de/live/19dmm

Each team must pick up their individual game folder at the pavilion (with the monitor) on Saturday morning (9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)!

From 12 to 14 June 2026, Chemnitz will become the centre of the German Mölkky scene: teams from all over Germany will meet at the sports field at Eislebener Str. 33 (VfL Chemnitz) for the 19th German Mölkky Championship (DMM).

The event is being organised by 1. Chemnitzer Pétanque-Club e. V. in cooperation with the German Mölkky Association (DMV). Following the success of the 1st East German Mölkky Championship (ODMM), participants can once again look forward to professional organisation, fair competition and a warm atmosphere within the Mölkky community.

Friday will be dedicated to the warm-up tournament, which starts at 2 p.m. Twenty-eight teams are scheduled to compete in four groups in a round-robin format. This will be followed by the semi-finals, finals and placement matches (for all group places one to seven). The participation fee is €10 per doubles team.

On Saturday and Sunday, the German Mölkky Championship will be held for the first time in a ‘3 + 1’ format (three active players plus one substitute). Eight preliminary round groups with ten teams each are planned. Saturday will feature the preliminary round and the first playoff round, while Sunday will see the final rounds for the medals. The side tournaments will be played in parallel: the Okapi Cup (B tournament) and the Persistence Cup (C tournament).

The participation fee for the main tournament is €50 per team during the early bird period from 11 November 2025, 11:11 a.m., to 3 March 2026, 3:03 a.m. After that, the regular entry fee of €60 applies.

As a special side event, the Speedmölkky tournament will take place over all three days of the event. A contribution of €1 will be donated for each attempt – all proceeds will go to the children's hospice in Chemnitz. The championship thus combines sporting competition with social commitment and community spirit.

With its sporting tradition, its dedicated club landscape and its open, hospitable atmosphere, Chemnitz offers the ideal setting for this special event – a weekend that combines passion, fairness and solidarity.

Advice in case of severe weather and/or storm

In case of a thunderstorm, the safest place is a closed car, camper or the inside of a building. Also, for those who have not arrived by car. Thus, car owners should also offer other participants and guests shelter in their vehicle and draw attention to vacant spaces by flashing their warning lights. This way, everyone has a safe and dry place in case of an emergency. The club building is also available for such emergencies.

Tents, on the other hand, are basically anything but a good idea to protect yourself from thunder and lightning. Tents should be abandoned immediately and a sheltered area sought out. And don't forget to close all zippers! This increases the chances that the tent will remain in place even in heavy winds.

If you are in the open and do not have the possibility of a safe shelter, the organizer gives the following tips:
•    Do not stay at the highest point of the terrain.
•     Crouch down with your feet closed, keep feet and legs closed.
•    Keep at least ten meters away from trees and one meter away from other people.

If there is a storm warning, the sports field should be left as quickly as possible or at least sufficient distance from structures and pavilions should be maintained. Despite all safety regulations and precautions, there is always residual risk. Caution is also advised in the vicinity of large trees, because of the danger of falling branches.

The instructions of the organization team (recognizable by the green vests) must be followed.

Referees

two main referees (Michael and Siggi) will help with tricky questions. If the teams will not come to an arrangement, just fetch the main referee who will make a decision.

We are looking for volunteers, who could act as a referee for the quarter-finals (“Round of 8”) onwards. If you are interested, please come forward to the information desk and be subscribed as a referee for one of the final rounds.
Now you need to remember only the time and then you referee the game ;-)

We would appreciate any help!

We wish all teams a lot of fun and success!

Your DMM Team
